HOLA! CÓMO HAN ESTADO?

Another week in the heat!

We had our zone conference. Learned a bunch of stuff and received revelation as usual. Got to talk to the pres! Showed him some pics of our little ranch and when I shot a deer. He liked that, jaja! I learned how to make empanadas with the district today and then I made a dog empanada! Don’t worry, I didn’t eat it!

Miracle of the week is our friend IRMA. She is Católica but has so much faith in Heavenly Father and loves talking to us about Him. She calls us her "ANGELES" - "ANGELS." She went to our family home evening activity this week and loved it! Jaja, we played charades and it took a little bit, but she got out of her comfort zone and got involved and was the cutest mariposa! Not just that, but this Sunday she came to church with us as well, and wow, the members were amazing and the Spirit definitely touched our hearts that day! I strive every day to be more like Irma! She never STOPS SMILING!

Something about our Savior is I feel He is ALWAYS smiling down on us. Ya, we’re not perfect, but He knows that and loves us despite our imperfections.

3 Nefi 19:25:

"And it came to pass that Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto Him; and His countenance did SMILE upon them, and the light of His countenance did SHINE upon them."

A movie I really like is the movie Annie! An Elder reminded me of the song from Annie and something that Annie always says, and that is, "YOU’RE NEVER FULLY DRESSED WITHOUT A SMILE!"

Which is so true! Every chance you get, SMILE. PEOPLE SEE AND IT ALSO HELPS THEM SMILE. I like to think that smiling and laughing is contagious! When one person is smiling, others feel the need to smile too! Interesting! Imagine if the whole world was smiling. I imagine that’s what the Celestial Kingdom is going to be like.

That’s how I feel when I am with my friend Irma — I always want to smile when I am around her! She actually told us that she wasn’t always so smiley, but when she found and trusted HEAVENLY FATHER to be in her life, that is when she found her smile. Which I can testify is true! HEAVENLY FATHER BRINGS THAT JOY INTO OUR LIVES AND HELPS US FIND THAT SMILE. Her smile brings so much joy to my soul, and I know for a fact it’s the JOY OF CHRIST.

With that said, friends, this message is simple. FIND HEAVENLY FATHER AND JUST SMILE!

¡Holaaaaa! In my studies this week, I have been focusing on the people out in the field I get the opportunity to teach. Also, I leave for the field next week, and I’ve been here over a month (time slow down!). A scripture I read and that has stuck out to me is in Luke 15:4, and it says: "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" The last few years, I’ve had the desire to be a nurse or something like it. There is so much I can say, but through my CNA clinicals and working at an assisted living facility, I’ve seen people in pain, and it hurts to watch. It got me thinking about how our Savior feels that pain. He feels our pain, sorrows, and trials. That can't be easy, but it is also a blessing because He knows how we feel. So turn to Him in prayer, and He can bring you comfort. I know from experience because I pray A LOT that He is a GREAT LISTENE...

! EN LA TIERRA PROMETIDA !

¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo están? How is everyone doing? Here in Cacahoatán, a member, Hermano Marvin, has been teaching my compañera and me more about the history of the Book of Mormon, and let me tell you, it's FASCINATING! After our discussion, he asked me how I felt, and I said, "NO TENGO PALABRAS" - "I HAVE NO WORDS." First off, he showed us a map of the Book of Mormon lands, which are in the Mesoamericas. He says Hermana Huerta and I are extremely lucky because we are literally serving in "A PROMISED LAND" mentioned in the Book of Mormon! There are a few stones here, but one we specifically focused on is the IZAPA STONE (The Tree of Life). This stone includes many pictures and symbols from the scriptures! Ahh, I wish I could sit down and explain it all to you right now! I still need to do a lot more research, though. ¡NECESITA COCA!

Hola! OK, first off - RAMBUTAN (the BEST fruit in the WORLD)!! I tried it a week ago and fell in love! Sadly, rambutan is only grown here. Sorry. I also tried papaya and mangosteen, along with many other things. Papaya is alright, and mangosteen is also really good! They grow on so many trees! With that said, gullible Hermana Boden was trying to get some rambutan off a random tree (jumping as high as I could) when a lady spotted us! I was like, "oh no," because it could have been her tree. My companion and I looked at each other with concern... The lady said, "come here!... I have more inside." Phew. We got some fruit and were also able to give her a little lesson. So my gullibility led us to teach this lady! Pretty good! Hermana Boden also put her hair in a French braid, a pretty proud moment! (I'm not very good at hair).
