HERE WE ARE AGAIN!

UPDATE FRIENDS: I'm still here living it up in the coast, I received my new comp on Wednesday and her name is Hna Padilla! I'm TANNER and my SPANISH is improving. I'm basically LATINA now, even some of the members say so jajaja! Also, I eat seafood almost every single day. Didn't like seafood before the mish, but I actually LOVE IT NOW!

It was quite the week! We started teaching a woman that is 80 YEARS OLD and is so freaking cute and delicate! Brought me back to my working in the nursing home days! I miss my old people! She kept telling us about how she felt, "SOLA" - "LONELY." I loved that we could help her feel that she was cared for. We talked to her about the plan of salvation and she said we could stop by her house and take her to church next Sunday!

My most PRECIOUS and AMAZING FATHER since being here in the coast has sent me an email almost every week. He sent me an email one day and it has been with me ever since. This is what he said to me:

"The most beautiful flowers grow in conditions like this where they have to focus their search for nourishment and water. You will be the bloom that shines in the desert. Your smile and laughter and your voice—your very presence is a gift. Be gracious and share your love."

Ya, my dad inspires me and has a way with his words.

To add onto the inspirational words of my dad, I'm literally living in a desert so this is really convenient to me jaja, but we can also relate it to life. Sometimes in life it can feel like we are LOST in the desert, FEELING LIKE WE AREN'T GROWING and WITH NO PURPOSE. When it's like this, at times it may seem easier to just sit there and expect something to happen. Really though, to find your destination and grow, you would need to SEARCH and DO something. ACT. You may ask how can we SEARCH and ACT? Sometimes it's through the scriptures, prayer, etc. But that's for you to find out, and you will find out as you FOCUS ON GROWING and TRYING to be the beautiful FLOWER YOU AND YOUR SAVIOR WANT YOU TO BE. You could be that BLOOM THAT SHINES IN THE DESERT.

We have another friend in teaching and he wants to get baptized but he's scared. For him to find confidence, he needs to ask the Savior in PRAYER. Read the SCRIPTURES. GO TO CHURCH. DO THE LITTLE THINGS. We can teach and support him, but for him to grow and know, he literally needs to act. After all, FAITH isn't FAITH without ACTION AND POWER. We hope that he will focus his search on the SAVIOR and can grow into a beautiful flower we know that HE CAN BE and can be that BLOOM THAT SHINES FOR HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

NEVER FORGET FRIENDS, just like my dad said, "YOU ARE THE BLOOM THAT SHINES BRIGHT IN THE DESERT," and HEAVENLY FATHER, THE GARDENER, is the one NOURISHING and HELPING YOU GROW WHEN YOU SINCERELY SEARCH FOR HIM.

ISAIAH 35:1:

"The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose."

¡Holaaaaa! In my studies this week, I have been focusing on the people out in the field I get the opportunity to teach. Also, I leave for the field next week, and I’ve been here over a month (time slow down!). A scripture I read and that has stuck out to me is in Luke 15:4, and it says: "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" The last few years, I’ve had the desire to be a nurse or something like it. There is so much I can say, but through my CNA clinicals and working at an assisted living facility, I’ve seen people in pain, and it hurts to watch. It got me thinking about how our Savior feels that pain. He feels our pain, sorrows, and trials. That can't be easy, but it is also a blessing because He knows how we feel. So turn to Him in prayer, and He can bring you comfort. I know from experience because I pray A LOT that He is a GREAT LISTENE...

! EN LA TIERRA PROMETIDA !

¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo están? How is everyone doing? Here in Cacahoatán, a member, Hermano Marvin, has been teaching my compañera and me more about the history of the Book of Mormon, and let me tell you, it's FASCINATING! After our discussion, he asked me how I felt, and I said, "NO TENGO PALABRAS" - "I HAVE NO WORDS." First off, he showed us a map of the Book of Mormon lands, which are in the Mesoamericas. He says Hermana Huerta and I are extremely lucky because we are literally serving in "A PROMISED LAND" mentioned in the Book of Mormon! There are a few stones here, but one we specifically focused on is the IZAPA STONE (The Tree of Life). This stone includes many pictures and symbols from the scriptures! Ahh, I wish I could sit down and explain it all to you right now! I still need to do a lot more research, though. ¡NECESITA COCA!

Hola! OK, first off - RAMBUTAN (the BEST fruit in the WORLD)!! I tried it a week ago and fell in love! Sadly, rambutan is only grown here. Sorry. I also tried papaya and mangosteen, along with many other things. Papaya is alright, and mangosteen is also really good! They grow on so many trees! With that said, gullible Hermana Boden was trying to get some rambutan off a random tree (jumping as high as I could) when a lady spotted us! I was like, "oh no," because it could have been her tree. My companion and I looked at each other with concern... The lady said, "come here!... I have more inside." Phew. We got some fruit and were also able to give her a little lesson. So my gullibility led us to teach this lady! Pretty good! Hermana Boden also put her hair in a French braid, a pretty proud moment! (I'm not very good at hair).
