MÁS ARRIBA
Ya, so friends, I ran out of storage again, so I didn’t write ya last week, and for that, I am very sorry. Voy a mejorar en eso!
Funny story and kind of another HERMANA BODEN MOMENT! I’ve come to the conclusión that I have a lot of them! Well, this time I was making hotcakes one night for my district because we wanted to eat breakfast together the next day. Welp, I was doing my thing, you know, cooking away, listening to the church youth music, making the most AWESOME AND DELICIOSAS HOTCAKES EVER! Then, all of a sudden, Hermana Toledo and I heard, clic, clak, boom... a few sparks lit, and suddenly my hotcakes were on fire. "AHHHHHH." We calmed down the fire, and everything was tranquila, but it turned out the problem was the cord—it got caught in our grill. It melted in the grill and, well, caught on fire. So the result was that we didn’t eat hotcakes as a district the next day, and we didn’t have a grill for a week. Thankfully, we have wonderful members who were loving and willing to fix it for us. So, well, I guess you can say you're never bored with The Hermana Boden.
One saying that Hermana Toledo taught me that is now one of my favorites is, "SI NO ES CHANA ES JUANA." This phrase basically describes me, jajaajajaj!
That’s a little story I wanted to share with you guys today. Oh, also, we have transfers tonight! Eeeh, I’m nervous and excited!
Below is what I wrote for you guys last week. Enjoy!
I heard my mom had a talk about me this Sunday, and she shared all the many WONDERFUL and CRAZY things that have happened in my mission, jajaajaja!
The truth is, the mish truly is great. It has its ups and downs, of course, but there are for sure more UPs!
Talking about UP! We had the honor to go up to these fancy towers this week with some members that live there, and we were able to see all of our area from up there—with the temple, church, mall, everything! We had the opportunity to play in their basketball and tennis courts as well, which was a blast! Yup, got pics!
If you can’t tell, my topic is about the word "UP." Like the movie Up, with the balloons and the flying house. Ya, that word! Well, when I was up in the towers, I got thinking about how many times I have looked up at these towers and wondered what it would be like to be inside. Well, we finally got the chance to see inside, and it was fancy and awesome!
Anyways, with that in mind, it made me realize how at times we're at the top of the tower, towards the middlish part, or towards the bottom more, but no matter what, you have the ability to BUILD YOUR TOWER UP higher or CLIMB UP higher. We are all at different spiritual heights in the tower, but I have the same invitation as Elaine L. Jack from her talk Look Up and Press On, and that is:
"Whatever your perspective, today I ask you to stand arm in arm with me and look up! Let us climb together to new spiritual heights."
We are all at a different level and height spiritually, but we can all push each other together to be better and go UP HIGHER!
I like the scripture in Isaiah 2:3 that says,
“Let us go UP to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”
Friends, if you ain’t aiming higher, you might as well not be aiming at all! Always think and look, "UP."
