HNA BODEN EN LA CIUDAD... LLENA DE GRATITUD
Surprise!
Don't worry, Hermana Boden isn't dead, she's just been working! A lot of changes this week! I ended up moving to a different area, Aeropuerto, Tuxtla. Hermana Boden is officially in the city of the mission! I now have two companions, we have two nicknames (THE TRIO PODEROSO and LAS PILOTAS—get it because our area is Aeropuerto—airport—and pilotas—pilots), and we are opening a new area together! We stayed at the mission home because we were homeless for a few days. No stress! We got a new house full of bugs, but it's alright. We have been using our cleaning skills and a lot of bug spray!
We've met the members and a bunch of new people here. They are absolutely amazing!
We also had a MULTI-ZONA CONFERENCIA! Hermana Boden got to see her buddies and district from the CCM: La Hermana Barber (¡mi primera compañera!), La Hermana Graff, and La Hermana Lee! And I finally got the privilege to meet El Elder Lifferth from the district! I also got to see many of my other friends! We had a member of the Quorum of the 70 and his wife come talk to us in the meeting, Elder Villanueva. Two things that stuck out to me that he said were:
"UN DIA A LA VEZ"
and
"DE AQUI & ADELANTE."
It was a great and spiritual-filled conference!
Not only that, but the mission president, President Camey, and Elder Villanueva assisted us in one of our lessons. Out of all the missionaries in the field, they chose us! To be honest, we were a little nervous, but it went great! We also learned a lot!
I've also been living it up with my new companions! We're always laughing—like, literally! We bought glasses because, well, if we are pilots, we need glasses (Top Gun). Members also gave us a Christmas tree! But honestly, this has probably been the most fun I've had since being out in the field!
It was SO hard saying goodbye to Cacahoatán and all my friends, you have no idea, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me here, and I am grateful for all the things I learned while being in my first area and all the love I received. One thing I learned and loved throughout my months in Cacahoatán is how giving the people are. Some of the people didn't have as much as others, but no matter what, it was rare to leave without being given something—even if it was just a glass of water. I could never express how thankful I am for all the love, support, and everything they gave me. They will forever be in my heart!
Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I want to share one thing I am thankful for, and that is for all the marvelous people I have met throughout my life—the people here in the mission and before the mission. You ALL have had an amazing impact on my life (EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU, one way or the other) and have made me the person I am today. I am not perfect, but having you all in my life has made me better and stronger than I was, and it has helped me come so much closer to my Savior. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, and THE HOLY SPIRIT have made the biggest impact in my life, and I know they brought me each of you for a reason.
Gracias, mis amigos, por todo! I also want to hear what you guys are thankful for this Thanksgiving!
