~ LA CONEXIÓN CELESTIAL~

Hola mis hermanos!

This week we had our zone conference! It was good; the President chose me to teach something in front of everyone (in Spanish). You can basically call me a teacher now. Nahhh, I’ve got a long ways to go, jajajaja, but Hermana Boden smiled the entire time, so that’s all that matters! Plus, President and other missionaries told me it was good, sooo boom—soy una inspiración! Jejejeje.

This next week we find out if I leave or not for another area because this will be my third exchange here! I kind of begged President if I could stay longer in this area because I have a lot of faith in my friends here in Cacahoatán, and I want to help them, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan. Maybe this plan includes me helping others in another area. Who knows? We will find out! The suspense is killing me! Jajaja!

One day my comp and I were headed to one of our small towns in a taxi, and the driver played the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy." It’s one of my faves and was a good reminder! Imagine this: you’re riding in a car through a beautiful forest on a bright, calm morning. The sun is shining, and all you see are tall trees and blooming flowers ahead of you. The car window is down, and all you feel is the fresh breeze and the beaming sun against your face while this song is playing! Yeah, I definitely had no worries in this moment. Solo felicidad y paz (happiness and peace)! I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so much beauty and to see the creation of our Savior every single day. The beauty and calmness of nature always provide me with a heavenly connection.

In what ways do you guys feel connected to our Heavenly Father? Or maybe you aren’t sure. Well, here are some ideas: maybe you can find it in serving others, music, nature, sports, time with your family, and of course in the scriptures, prayer, and church! It is astonishing to me how He has provided so many ways for us to feel connected to Him! Everywhere we are, we can feel His presence, which is such a blessing! We have so many reasons to rejoice in our Heavenly Father and be filled with His love!

We have no need to worry when we have Heavenly Father in our lives. We can always find Him and look for Him. He is there. He is here. He sees you. He knows you. He is listening. And He absolutely loves you.

I invite you, when you have those beautiful moments where you feel a heavenly connection in your life, to write it down. You won’t regret it! You will start noticing the many times our Heavenly Father has been there for you and always is there! I’ve looked back in my journal, and I can testify that I have seen His hand and presence in my life many times. I’m also going to write down my experience with nature!

¡Holaaaaa! In my studies this week, I have been focusing on the people out in the field I get the opportunity to teach. Also, I leave for the field next week, and I’ve been here over a month (time slow down!). A scripture I read and that has stuck out to me is in Luke 15:4, and it says: "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" The last few years, I’ve had the desire to be a nurse or something like it. There is so much I can say, but through my CNA clinicals and working at an assisted living facility, I’ve seen people in pain, and it hurts to watch. It got me thinking about how our Savior feels that pain. He feels our pain, sorrows, and trials. That can't be easy, but it is also a blessing because He knows how we feel. So turn to Him in prayer, and He can bring you comfort. I know from experience because I pray A LOT that He is a GREAT LISTENE...

! EN LA TIERRA PROMETIDA !

¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo están? How is everyone doing? Here in Cacahoatán, a member, Hermano Marvin, has been teaching my compañera and me more about the history of the Book of Mormon, and let me tell you, it's FASCINATING! After our discussion, he asked me how I felt, and I said, "NO TENGO PALABRAS" - "I HAVE NO WORDS." First off, he showed us a map of the Book of Mormon lands, which are in the Mesoamericas. He says Hermana Huerta and I are extremely lucky because we are literally serving in "A PROMISED LAND" mentioned in the Book of Mormon! There are a few stones here, but one we specifically focused on is the IZAPA STONE (The Tree of Life). This stone includes many pictures and symbols from the scriptures! Ahh, I wish I could sit down and explain it all to you right now! I still need to do a lot more research, though. I bought a stone and will put a picture of it in my Google Photos, along with the map, for you all if you are interested! You can basicall...

¡NECESITA COCA!

Hola! OK, first off - RAMBUTAN (the BEST fruit in the WORLD)!! I tried it a week ago and fell in love! Sadly, rambutan is only grown here. Sorry. I also tried papaya and mangosteen, along with many other things. Papaya is alright, and mangosteen is also really good! They grow on so many trees! With that said, gullible Hermana Boden was trying to get some rambutan off a random tree (jumping as high as I could) when a lady spotted us! I was like, "oh no," because it could have been her tree. My companion and I looked at each other with concern... The lady said, "come here!... I have more inside." Phew. We got some fruit and were also able to give her a little lesson. So my gullibility led us to teach this lady! Pretty good! Hermana Boden also put her hair in a French braid, a pretty proud moment! (I'm not very good at hair). I always had my cousin Rue do it back home. Here they call Coke "Coca." When I was younger and started my love for sports, I quit d...
