< GRATITUDEEEEEEE >
Random thought of the week: I haven't driven a car in 4 months and won't for another 14 months! Loco! I hope my car is doing well. Jed used it this week, so I'm a little worried! He and I made a lot of memories together in college! He listened to my friends and me sing A LOT!!
Also, I tried IGUANA!!! Interesting, that's for sure! The texture of the skin grossed me out, but the meat itself tasted like chicken!
We had a BAPTISM FOR SCARLETT RENATA this week! Her 8th birthday and baptism were on the same day! Her mom and grandma are members, and they wanted us to teach her about the gospel, so we did! Scarlett reminds me a lot of myself before my baptism because I remember my grandma trying to teach me about its importance, and I was not really willing to listen. I now appreciate her and her patience. Gracias, mi abuelita! The same was true for Renata, but we promised her we would make some games about the lessons, and then she was more content! Great baptism!
Ok, this week I want to talk about GRATITUDE! I challenged myself to focus less on myself this week and more on the Savior and my purpose! Doing this, I noticed I started recognizing the things that matter the most—things like miracles, blessings, and tender mercies. Noticing these little things from our Savior made my week 10 times better.
In the CCM, my teacher gave us a little jar and called it a "tender mercy" jar. She said, "Every day, you need to write down a little miracle or blessing you have recognized in your days in the CCM, put them in the jar, and in the future, when you have a bad day on your mission, read your tender mercies." I read mine for the first time and realized how much I have been BLESSED and how much I have to be grateful for! In my past and NOW in the future!
The Savior really has blessed us with so much! Including His beautiful creation—the earth, our friends and families, a roof above our heads, and so much more! Today, and I hope every day from now on, I will recognize and remember how much the Savior has done and given us. All because He loves us!
I invite you all to think and ponder something (a tender mercy) today, write it down, and thank our Heavenly Father in prayer for it! You will recognize and feel His love for you and the many things He has done for you. I definitely recognized it in my week!
Colossians 3:15: "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
And of course, I am GRATEFUL for you all and everything you have done for me! You are on this email for a reason, and that is because you have had an impact on my life, and I love you so dearly and CON TODO MI CORAZÓN!! Have a great week, mi familia!
