It was an eventful week! We went and explored around here with some members. We took a ton of pictures! I didn’t think this place could get any more beautiful, but I am proved wrong every time I walk to a new place. Blessed!

Also, during our adventures, we saw fireflies like the bug from The Princess and the Frog, "Ray!" Hermana Boden had never seen them before! I tried to get a video of them, and sorry to disappoint, but they wouldn’t light up—it’s like they knew! I promise I saw them though! In Español, they are called "luciérnagas!"

Close to dying twice this week: we almost got in a crash in a combi (the vans we travel in, it's like a taxi). The driver was speeding, and we were inches away from hitting another car. The Spirit was definitely with us! Another day, a man tried to give me this compass-like thing. My curious self went to grab it, and a member said, "No!" The man left, and she pointed to the middle of my forehead and said, "Muerte," which means death. Yeah, I need to be more careful!

We have a baptism tomorrow!!! (I’ll let you know about it next week).

A friend was sad this week and needed comfort, so my compañera and I sang hymns to her. My compañera has the most beautiful voice! We sang my favorite children's hymn, "A Child’s Prayer." I sang in English, and my compañera sang in Español. Our friend cried and told us that she felt the Spirit, even though she didn’t know the English lyrics. The Spirit was definitely felt! It’s amazing how powerful music can be.

From that experience, and what I’ve been thinking about a lot since being here, is talents. Growing up, my mom always told me, "You need to share your talents." So, she would make me sing in church and sometimes at talent shows. I never really cared to share, but I love my mom, so I did it for her! I also didn’t think my voice was that amazing—I’d give it a 6/10! Now, I am finally learning that talents are important. They are divine gifts from our Heavenly Father, and we should use and share them. I am literally living proof that they can bless others!

Moroni 10:8 reads: "And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them."

Sooooo... my invitation for you today: use and share your talents! There are many ways you can share them! You never know who is needing them and you!

You guys are amazing, talented, and loved by me and, most importantly, by our Heavenly Father. Keep killing it! Many prayers!

¡Holaaaaa! In my studies this week, I have been focusing on the people out in the field I get the opportunity to teach. Also, I leave for the field next week, and I’ve been here over a month (time slow down!). A scripture I read and that has stuck out to me is in Luke 15:4, and it says: "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" The last few years, I’ve had the desire to be a nurse or something like it. There is so much I can say, but through my CNA clinicals and working at an assisted living facility, I’ve seen people in pain, and it hurts to watch. It got me thinking about how our Savior feels that pain. He feels our pain, sorrows, and trials. That can't be easy, but it is also a blessing because He knows how we feel. So turn to Him in prayer, and He can bring you comfort. I know from experience because I pray A LOT that He is a GREAT LISTENE...

! EN LA TIERRA PROMETIDA !

¡Buenos días! ¿Cómo están? How is everyone doing? Here in Cacahoatán, a member, Hermano Marvin, has been teaching my compañera and me more about the history of the Book of Mormon, and let me tell you, it's FASCINATING! After our discussion, he asked me how I felt, and I said, "NO TENGO PALABRAS" - "I HAVE NO WORDS." First off, he showed us a map of the Book of Mormon lands, which are in the Mesoamericas. He says Hermana Huerta and I are extremely lucky because we are literally serving in "A PROMISED LAND" mentioned in the Book of Mormon! There are a few stones here, but one we specifically focused on is the IZAPA STONE (The Tree of Life). This stone includes many pictures and symbols from the scriptures! Ahh, I wish I could sit down and explain it all to you right now! I still need to do a lot more research, though. ¡NECESITA COCA!

Hola! OK, first off - RAMBUTAN (the BEST fruit in the WORLD)!! I tried it a week ago and fell in love! Sadly, rambutan is only grown here. Sorry. I also tried papaya and mangosteen, along with many other things. Papaya is alright, and mangosteen is also really good! They grow on so many trees! With that said, gullible Hermana Boden was trying to get some rambutan off a random tree (jumping as high as I could) when a lady spotted us! I was like, "oh no," because it could have been her tree. My companion and I looked at each other with concern... The lady said, "come here!... I have more inside." Phew. We got some fruit and were also able to give her a little lesson. So my gullibility led us to teach this lady! Pretty good! Hermana Boden also put her hair in a French braid, a pretty proud moment! (I'm not very good at hair).
