TODOS HOMBRES
Como están todos?!
Another long email—lo siento, I’ll work on it.
Saw Elder Duncan and Elder Taylor!! (Love my Idaho people) Woot woot!!
Happy Father’s Day - ¡Feliz Día del Padre! I have been thinking a lot about my dad and how much he has impacted my life. The thing I miss the most about him is his hugs and how kind and welcoming he is to everyone! I know for a fact I wouldn’t be here without my dad on earth and Father in Heaven (and of course my mom, hehe).
I’m also grateful for the other men in my life—my brothers, including Jesus Christ, uncles, guy friends who are serving missions, and all the men who have been a huge influence and example to me. I think they need a holiday for todos hombres.
This week, one of the girls in our district got sick, and one of the elders blessed her for the first time. It was so cool, and he said (God said) everything she needed to hear. I’ve never realized how powerful and important the priesthood is, and how personal priesthood blessings are!
A scripture about the priesthood I like is Alma 13:13:
"Now, as I said concerning the holy order, or this high priesthood, there were many who were ordained and became high priests of God; and it was on account of their exceeding faith and repentance, and their righteousness before God, they choosing to repent and WORK righteousness rather than to perish."
All I gotta say is keep on workin’, men!
Also, interesting story... but first off, I got my GREEN CARD, so basically you can call me a LATINA now, haha! On that note, to get my green card, I had to have my hair behind my ears and all my jewelry off. Hermana Boden did not know that, and she wears permanent jewelry!! Well, I got to the desk at the immigration place, took off all my jewelry, and remembered that I have that stinkin’ permanent necklace on, haha. I asked the lady at the desk if she had scissors—“nope!” Inside, I’m like, “bruh,” and I’m trying to rip it off my neck, which hurt, by the way. I looked to the guy on the left, and he offered to rip it off my neck. I hesitated for a second because he was a big, strong dude who could definitely rip my head off if he wanted, but I took a leap of faith and let him. My guy was so strong it took him no effort to break the necklace. (I need his workout routine.) “¡Muchas gracias, hombre fuerte!”
Take care, everyone! Reach out if there is anything I can do for you!
