¡Holaaaaa!
In my studies this week, I have been focusing on the people out in the field I get the opportunity to teach. Also, I leave for the field next week, and I’ve been here over a month (time slow down!).
A scripture I read and that has stuck out to me is in Luke 15:4, and it says:
"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?"
The last few years, I’ve had the desire to be a nurse or something like it. There is so much I can say, but through my CNA clinicals and working at an assisted living facility, I’ve seen people in pain, and it hurts to watch. It got me thinking about how our Savior feels that pain. He feels our pain, sorrows, and trials. That can't be easy, but it is also a blessing because He knows how we feel. So turn to Him in prayer, and He can bring you comfort. I know from experience because I pray A LOT that He is a GREAT LISTENER. I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and His sacrifice FOR US. The amount of people He has helped and healed is so amazing!
I loved working as a CNA because I could help them. And that smile of gratitude and love, and the feeling that I was helping them. THAT SMILE, THAT ONE SMILE, is everything to me.
This week, I remembered that in my temple recommend, that same scripture about the lost sheep is on it, and at the top, it says "SEEKING THE ONE." As I am in the field, it doesn't matter about the number. It is just that ONE person. THE ONE who is lost and has been waiting. That ONE PERSON who needs me and my companion, but most of all the Savior, and can feel His love that we have been so blessed to feel. His love, this gospel, and the people mean EVERYTHING to me. I can't wait to serve those of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico, and SEEK FOR THE ONE. What a wonderful opportunity. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Also, we played basketball and ping pong in the rain—highly suggest doing so! It's been a rainy week with some loud thunder, which is awesome! (Got some pics in the rain, of course.)
Always praying for you all and very grateful! Reach out if there is anything I can do for you, and send me pictures, please! I would love to see how you are doing! Catch up with you next week! ¡Adios!
