~ LA CONEXIÓN CELESTIAL~

Hola mis hermanos! This week we had our zone conference! It was good; the President chose me to teach something in front of everyone (in Spanish). You can basically call me a teacher now. Nahhh, I’ve got a long ways to go, jajajaja, but Hermana Boden smiled the entire time, so that’s all that matters! Plus, President and other missionaries told me it was good, sooo boom—soy una inspiración! Jejejeje. This next week we find out if I leave or not for another area because this will be my third exchange here! I kind of begged President if I could stay longer in this area because I have a lot of faith in my friends here in Cacahoatán, and I want to help them, but I know Heavenly Father has a plan. Maybe this plan includes me helping others in another area. Who knows? We will find out! The suspense is killing me! Jajaja! One day my comp and I were headed to one of our small towns in a taxi, and the driver played the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy." It’s one of my faves and was a g...

Hey hey hey!! This one's going to be a fast one! I have sad news, my friends. I know you guys love the pics, but I don’t have the best service tonight. But next week it will be done, and you will get to see my face! This week we hosted a sports activity for the ward, and many of our new friends that are non-members and inactives showed up. VA-flipping-MOSSSSSSS! We played volleyball, fútbol (soccer), and basketball! And today we played basketball as a district! (A few weeks ago I bought a basketball because I was going crazy without one. Oh, how feliz Hermana Boden is now. But I kind of need an air pump though, haha!) I can definitely say, besides the Savior, friends, and family, SPORTS are my HAPPY PLACE! They are awesome! It’s a time for me not to think or have to talk much (in Spanish, I only need to say “ESOOOOO” or “VAMOOOOS” or words like that in Spanish, haha), but really just have fun and bond with my friends! I am so exceedingly grateful for sports and the opportunities I ...

MENSAGE DE MEXICO ------->

MI FAMILIAAAAAAA!! This week, I have been learning how to cook the MEXICAN WAY, washing my clothes by hand, and how to make medicine from plants! Hermana Boden isn’t the best at cooking or washing her clothes, but she has faith, jajaajaja! Her children will be grateful someday for her efforts. We made chicken Alfredo with a family of members because they knew it’s one of my favorites from the U.S.! Love them! Mi compañera and I made spaghetti this week, and IT WAS KILERRRR (they eat a lot of spaghetti here, by the way). Goshhhhhh, I am so close to being un LATINAAAA!! I have been learning things the Mexican way, but it is actually surprising how many people are interested in learning English or want to go to the United States! I have one friend in particular, in teaching, who is so intent on learning and has a dream to one day go to the States! It is so SPECIAL to me that she turns to us and trusts us to help her with her English and accomplish her dream! Her name is Camilla; she is 11...

BIENVENIDAS MIS AMIGOS DE LA IGLESIA DE GOZO

THIS WEEK WAS GENERAL CONFERENCE!! I hope your questions were answered, you felt the spirit and love of our Savior, and you enjoyed your time with your families! I listened to all of it in Spanish and probably understood about one-third of it. ESOOOO!! For those of you who have been asking about my Spanish progress, I would compare myself to a 4-year-old at this point! YEP, PROGRESS!! I’d say I’m probably 4/10 Latina at this point! The members here keep saying I’m getting closer, and I absolutely love them! They were so excited when they heard there was a new temple in Idaho! Hermano Marvin, in particular, looked at me, threw his fist in the air, and yelled, "Idahoooo." I’m excited for Mexico and their new temple as well!! One talk I loved was by Elder Ulisses Soares (he never disappoints), but I especially liked this quote because the computer glitched, and it started talking in English, which was exactly what Hermana Boden needed to hear. The quote was: "WHAT WORKS FOR...

MISTERIO DESTINADO A SER RESUELTO

Well... well... well... fam, do I have a story for you! We had exchanges this week, but our district did this thing where the leader picks a random verse from the scriptures, and the verse is supposed to determine what will happen in the exchanges. So, my scripture was James 1:4: ~ "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." Well, this verse about patience definitely determined the future! My supposedly new companion got a fracture in her leg, so I got a different one for a few weeks. Her name is Hermana Teyssier, and I absolutely LOVE her! Maybe the kindest human being I have ever met! The thing is, I’m not sure if we are going to end up being in a trio, or if Hermana Teyssier is going to a different area, or when the companion with the fracture will get here! The truth is, I don’t know! IT IS A MYSTERY THAT IS DESTINED TO BE SOLVED! I will wait here with PATIENCE, trust in our Savior, and see what happens... Another great sc...
